How To

How do I transfer a domain name(s)?
  1. From the Network Solutions® Partner Portal home page, click the Manage Services tab at the top of the screen and then click the Transfer Domains link.

Note: This feature is not available for all Network Solutions Partners. Please contact Partner Support for more information.

  2. You will be prompted to enter the domain name(s) you wish to transfer. Enter the domain name in either the text field labeled "Enter a Single Domain" or the text box labeled "Enter Multiple Domain Names." The domain name must include the extension. Click the Go! button to continue.

  3. If the domain name(s) you entered is available for transfer, it will be displayed under the "Available for Transfer" heading. If you are transferring multiple domain names, be sure that the checkbox corresponding to each domain name you wish to transfer is checked. When you have done so, click the Go! button to continue.

  4. After you have made your domain name selections, you will be required to enter a Customer ID(s) to which you wish to transfer the domain name(s).

    Assigning Customer ID(s)

    • If you know the Customer ID to which you would like to transfer the domain name you can enter it into the text box next to the domain name.

    • If you do not know the Customer ID, you can click on the Lookup Customer link. This link will allow you to search for the Customer IDs associated with your Wholesale Account. When you find the account you are searching for, click the Assign button. This will bring you back to the "Assign Customer" page. Clicking on the Assign button again will associate the Customer ID to the domain names in your list.

    • If the customer does not yet exist in the system, you can click on the link to create a new customer within your Wholesale Account. You will then be able to assign the new customer to the domain names in your list.

    • You also have the option to verify a Customer ID by entering this ID in the "Assign Customer ID" text field and clicking on the Verify link. A window will pop up listing the account specifics for that customer.

  5. Enter any applicable Authorization Code, which is required by certain registries in order to transfer a domain name.

  6. After you have assigned your Customer ID(s) and entered any applicable Authorization Codes, you have the option to add additional services or features, as well as to change the name server information for any or all of these domain names.

    • Check the checkbox corresponding to each domain name for which you intend to change the name server information.

  7. You will be directed to the "Assign Host" page. You will be required to enter a Primary and Secondary Host. When you have done so, click the Go! button to continue. The "Confirm Transfer" page captures all of the information you entered for this transfer and gives you a chance to review this information prior to submission. After you have reviewed the domain name, Customer, and Host information, click the Submit button.

  8. The final screen of the transfer process is the confirmation page. This page displays the domain names which you have requested to transfer.
