How do I perform a Standard Registration?

 

  1. From the Network Solutions� Partner Portal home page, click the Order Services tab at the top of the screen, then click the Register link.
  2. You will be prompted to enter the domain name(s) that you wish to register. Enter the domain name in the search box labeled "Search for a Single Domain." The domain name must include the extension. Click the Go! button to continue.
  3. If the domain name(s) you entered is available, it will be displayed under the "Available" heading. Make sure that the select checkbox is checked and click the Go! button to continue.
  4. After you have made your domain name selections, you will have the option to add Private Registration and/or Web Forwarding to some or all of the domain names you are registering. Check the box under the associated columns, or click the All button to add Private Registration and/or Web Forwarding to all domain names.

    For more information on Private Registration and Web Forwarding, please go to Support tab and click on Marketing Resources. You will then have the option of choosing a Standard Registration or an Express Registration. Select Standard Registration and one of the registration types: Advanced DNS or Registration

    • Advanced DNS

      You can host your domain names on Network Solutions name servers for free. DNS information is not required at the time of registration and the domain name will resolve to our default Standard Under Construction page. At any time, you can enter and make changes to the following records: A, MX for e-mail and CNAME for domain alias. If you add Web Forwarding to selected domain names, you must choose Advanced DNS.

    • Registration

      Domain names of type Registration require you to enter a primary and secondary name server at the time of registration.

    After you have made your selection, click the Go! button.

  5. You will be presented with a page displaying a form for inputting the registration information dependent upon the type of account you chose in the previous step. Fill in all required fields and click the Go! button.
  6. The "Confirm Registration" page captures all of the information for the registration and gives you a chance to review the information prior to submission. If this information is correct, click the Submit button to place your order.
  7. The final screen of the registration process is the "Order Confirmation" page. This page displays the domain names which you have requested as well as a reference number, status code and description of the status of your order.
