How do I turn Domain Protect "On" and "Off"?

Are you looking for a way to add an additional layer of security to your customer's domain name registration? By electing to turn Domain Protect "On", you can secure your customer's domain name registration by preventing it from falling victim to an outbound Change of Registrar (CRA) transfer. Rest assured, if you choose to turn Domain Protect "On" now, you will be able to turn it "Off" at any time.

The Domain Protect feature is available for the following TLDs: .com, .net, .org, .biz, .info, .mobi, .ag, .ar.com, .asia, .br.com, .bz, .cc, .cn, .cn.com, .de.com, .eu.com, .gb.com, .hn, .hu.com, .im, .jpn.com, .kr.com, .la, .lc, .me, .mn, .no.com, .qc.com, .ru.com, .sa.com, .sc, .se.com, .se.net, .sc, .tel, .tv, .tw, .uk.com, .uk.net, .us, .us.com, .uy.com, .vc, .ws, and .za.com. To turn Domain Protect on for existing single domain name registrations:

  1. From the Network Solutions® Partner Portal home page, click the Manage Services tab at the top of the screen. If you have a specific domain name that you are searching for, click the View/Update Domains link. Or, if you would like to search by specific criteria, click the Advanced Search link under View/Update Domains.

  2. If you click the View/Update Domains link, enter the domain name you are searching for and click the Go! button.

    If you are conducting an Advanced Search, enter the specific criteria for your search and click the Go! button. You will be presented with the domain names that fit your search criteria. Click on the specific Domain Name of which you would like to change the Domain Protect status.

  3. The domain details page will appear. Click the Edit Domain Protect button, which will bring you to the "Edit Domain Protect" page. You have the option of electing to turn Domain Protect "On" or "Off". When you have made your selection, click the Submit button.

  4. The "Order Confirmation" page will appear to serve as a reference for your submission.


To change the status of multiple domain names at one time:

  1. From the Network Solutions® Partner Portal home page, click the Manage Services tab at the top of the screen. Click the Advanced Search link under View/Update Domains.

  2. Enter the specific criteria for your search and click the Go! button. You will be presented with the domain names that fit your search criteria. Under the domain name search results on this page and the "Manage Multiple Domains" heading, click on the type of domain names that you would like to manage from the drop down box, and click the Go! button.

  3. Check the domain names that you would like to change the Domain Protect status for by clicking the box in the "Select" column of the domain name search results. Once you have checked all the desired domain names, scroll down to the "Edit Selected Items" heading under the domain name search results. Select Domain Protect from the drop down menu and click the Go! button.

  4. You will be presented with the "Edit Domain Protect" page. You have the option of electing to turn Domain Protect "On" or "Off". When you have made your selection, click the Submit button.

  5. The "Order Confirmation" page will appear to serve as a reference for your submission.


For new domain name registrations, Change of Registrar (CRA) and Channel Transfers, you will be presented with the option of turning Domain Protect "On" or "Off" during the order process.
